Mitsubishi - 2010 Lancer Evolution

Its legendary reputation on the streets is well-documented. Now, with the launch of MR Touring, the 2010 Lancer Evolution takes a giant leap upscale, with refinements like full-leather RECARO seats, sunroof and a discreet lip spoiler. Proving once again that Lancer Evolution may be lot of things, but ordinary is n't one of them.

Every Lancer Evolution includes the following standard features:

  • • 291-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter DOHC MIVEC engine

  • • Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC)

  • • RECARO ® semi-bucket racing seats with fixed head rests

  • • Leather-wrapped sport steering wheel

  • • Aluminum roof, hood and front fenders

  • • Rear diffuser with dual exhaust outlet

  • • Clear and black tail lights

  • • 5-speed manual transmission

  • • 18" x 8.5" Enkei ® alloy wheels with 245/40R18 Yokohama ADVAN ® tires

  • • Bluetooth ® hands-free phone system with voice command recognition

  • • Color keyed rear spoiler

After decades of pushing vehicles to their logical limits on the World Rally circuit, our engineers have learned a thing or two about what it takes to keep drivers safe in the most critical of situations. So for the high-performance Lancer Evolution, they engineered a full compliment of active and passive safety systems designed to keep you out of harm's way when driving on terrain that's sometimes just as treacherous: your local streets and highways.

The Lancer Evolution offers standard advanced dual-stage front SRS airbags, driver and passenger side-impact airbags, and front and rear side-curtain airbags on all Lancer models. Sensors evaluate the deceleration during an impact, the position of the driver's seat, and the weight on the front passenger's seat to provide the appropriate level of front airbag deployment. A first-in-segment feature, Lancer's standard driver's side knee airbag helps to prevent injury by stabilizing the legs and lower body of the driver in certain frontal collisions.

The ABS technology used by Lancer Evolution helps to eliminate wheel lock-up during panic or emergency braking. Wheel speed is monitored and braking pressure is optimized when impending wheel lock-up is sensed. The system "pulses” the brakes up to 10 times per second, modulating wheel rotation to help eliminate lock-up and maximize driver control.

Lancer Evolution's Refined Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body chassis is designed to help provide added protection in a collision. With the extensive use of high-tensile-strength steel, the frame packs extra reinforcement in the areas where it matters most. By reinforcing critical areas, the RISE body chassis is your friend should you find yourself in a collision. This reinforcement is complemented by energy-absorbing crumple zones that help dissipate energy in an impact. We even gave Lancer crumple zones to help protect pedestrians if the unthinkable should happen.

Lower anchors and tethers for children (LATCH) help simplify the attachment of child safety seats; making it easier for you to help keep your child safe.

ASC (Active Stability Control) is a system that is designed to help maintain and control the lateral movement of the Lancer Evolution during difficult driving conditions. It uses sensors that check your speed, and how the vehicle is responding to your steering input. Bottom line? ASC simplifies steering for the driver by applying braking pressure to the wheel that is slipping and, if necessary, cutting down the engine throttle to help you maintain control.

Every Mitsubishi is equipped with three-point seatbelts and head restraints, plus front seatbelt pretensioners that are designed to help tighten the belts in certain frontal impacts so the seatbelts can better do their job. Seatbelt force limiters, which help the front seatbelts and airbags† work together optimally, are also standard on every Lancer. Details...
